Family and Systemic Psychotherapist UKCP Registered
• Couples • Families • Individuals • Children and Young Persons • Adults
- MSc Family Therapy
- MSc Social Work
- Diploma in Counselling
I work with all age ranges including children and adolescents, adults, individuals, couples and family groups. I can offer support for issues such as:
- Low self-esteem
- Difficulties in family and couple relationships
- Parental separation and divorce
- Neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD
- School issues such as school refusal, bullying, transitions and academic-related stress
- Parenting skills for both younger children and adolescents
I draw on many different systemic models when working, favouring a narrative and strengths-based approach. I always try to work collaboratively and will endeavour to create a safe, therapeutic space where together we can start to think about how you might like things to be different. I can offer both short, and longer-term work, as required. If young people, particularly adolescents, are not keen to engage in therapy, I am happy to work solely with parents/care givers to think about how you can best support your young person.
I have worked with children, adolescents, individuals and families for the last 30 years in the arenas of education, social services and mental health. For 16 years I was employed by the NHS in a local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). I also have experience of working in a couples’ clinic and in a GP surgery. Before training as a family therapist, I was employed variously as an Education Welfare Officer, a Social Worker and a CAMHS Practitioner.
I have a current enhanced DBS certificate.
