MBACP (Accredited)
Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist | EMDR Therapist | Clinical Supervisor
Children, Young People & Families
Finding the right support for your child can feel daunting. Many of the parents and carers I work with arrive feeling worried, exhausted, and often unheard — having already tried traditional routes that simply didn’t work for their child, or for them as a family.
It is not uncommon for families to tell me that previous therapy felt overly rigid, unhelpful, or even distressing, leaving children disengaged or reluctant to seek further support. Parents are often left trying to hold everything together while feeling blamed, overlooked, or unsure how best to help.
I believe therapy should fit the child and family, not the other way around.
A Flexible, Integrative Approach
I am an MBACP Accredited Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with extensive experience across CAMHS, the NHS, educational settings, and private practice.
I work integratively, drawing upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to create support that is tailored to each child or young person’s developmental stage, personality, strengths, and needs. This flexibility is particularly valuable for children who may have struggled to engage with more traditional services.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt therapy to the individual. Sessions may include play, creative expression, talking therapy, practical coping strategies, attachment-focused work, and collaborative work with parents and carers.
My aim is to create a therapeutic experience that feels safe, respectful, and meaningful — one where children and young people feel understood rather than managed.
Experience and Areas of Special Interest
My professional background includes over seven years working within CAMHS, alongside extensive experience in mainstream schools, specialist education settings and alternative provision. This has provided me with significant experience supporting:
- Anxiety and emotional difficulties
- Low mood and depression
- Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Attachment and relationship difficulties
- Neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- School-based challenges and attendance difficulties
- Self-esteem and identity development
- Family transitions and separations
- Complex presentations involving risk and safeguarding concerns
How I Work
My practice is relational, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused. Depending on need, I draw from:
- Play and Creative Arts Therapy
- Attachment-focused approaches
- Trauma-informed practice
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Person-Centred Therapy
- Parent Child Attachment Play (PCAP)
- Mindfulness and emotion coaching approaches
For younger children, therapy often takes place through play, art, creativity, and storytelling. For older children and adolescents, sessions may involve talking therapy, creative methods, or a combination of both.
Supporting Parents and Carers
When a child is struggling, the impact is felt throughout the family system. Supporting parents and carers is therefore an important part of my work.
I offer parent consultations, review sessions, and opportunities to reflect on your child’s needs and the challenges you may be experiencing as a family. My aim is to ensure that parents feel supported, informed, and included throughout the therapeutic journey.
Strengthening understanding and connection within family relationships often becomes a powerful catalyst for lasting change.
EMDR Therapy for Adults
In addition to my work with children and young people, I offer EMDR therapy for adults.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-researched and effective psychotherapy approach that helps people process difficult experiences that continue to have an impact on their lives. It is recommended by NICE and is widely used in the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress.
EMDR can be helpful for:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Childhood trauma and attachment wounds
- Anxiety and panic
- Phobias
- Low self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- Stress and burnout
- Distressing life experiences that feel unresolved
As an EMDR UK member with EMDR Europe-accredited training, I provide a warm, collaborative, and carefully paced therapeutic space in which clients can process difficult experiences and move towards greater emotional wellbeing.
Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision for Therapists Working with Children, Young People and Adults
I offer clinical supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, and other helping professionals working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
As an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, EMDR practitioner, and Clinical Supervisor, I understand both the rewards and complexities of therapeutic work across varied settings, including private practice, CAMHS, education, and community-based services.
My supervisory approach is collaborative, reflective, and supportive, while also providing appropriate challenge to promote professional growth and safe, ethical practice.
I offer supervision for therapists working with:
- Children and young people
- Adults
- Trauma and attachment presentations
- Neurodivergent clients
- Complex family dynamics
- School-based and educational settings
- Private practice development
My supervision framework integrates relational, developmental, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed perspectives, creating a space where clinicians can think deeply about their work, strengthen their confidence, and develop their professional identity.
Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, I aim to provide a supervision relationship that is thoughtful, containing, and professionally enriching.
